WHO WE ARE
Established in 2014, Fidèle Youth Dance Company, part of Turning Pointe Dance, is a Christian, student dance company. FYDC strives to impact our community for His Kingdom through the arts, providing a healthy and Christ-centered training environment with the unique opportunity to be involved in a production and gain pre-professional experience.
Members of Fidèle (French for “faithful”) gain valuable experience in a pre-professional company setting that fosters both a love of Christ and a love of the arts. Students work with guest instructors to expand their vocabulary and skill sets in dance and acting, giving company members the tools and experience they need to continue dancing professionally, be it in a performance company, in the missions field, in college and beyond. Members also participate in the creation of original productions, providing the unique experience of learning to build a performance from the ground up.
Each year, members of FYDC perform an original, full-length and faith-based production with the intention of spreading the gospel through the arts. In addition, company members are assigned to prayer groups, encouraging friendships and spiritual bonds that transcend studio space. As a group, Fidèle participates in outreach and service projects each season that minister to our community and work through Bible studies that pertain to each annual production, taking the lessons learned in the classroom and translating them into the hands and feet of Christ, shining His light on the stage, to each other and in the world.
Company members must take supplemental classes in addition to weekly rehearsals. A full list of requirements can be found here.
Fidèle presents a full-length production each November. Information can be found in the main menu.
Students can choose to attend one of two available audition dates. Days, times and requirements are listed here.
Fidèle shines His light beyond the studio. More information about outreach can be found in the main menu.

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of scripture, to teaching and spreading the Gospel.

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have the works?
— James 2:14
FYDC is committed to serving as Christ’s hands and feet in the community. Students have perfomed at senior centers, homeless shelters, memory care facilities, rehabilitation centers, low-income housing communities, arts festivals and other events with the mission of using the arts to shine the light of Christ.
...And the Lord asked a third time, "Do you love me?” and Peter said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Then feed my sheep." — John 21:17
In addition to performance, students go beyond dance to serve the community by partnering with organizations including Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado, Compassion International, COS I Love You, Springs Rescue Mission and Dream Centers Mary's Home. To date, Fidèle has donated more than 2,500 pounds of food to Care and Share Food Bank, built more than 1,500 care boxes for low-income seniors, and participated in a studio-wide drive that collected more than 150 pounds of bedding and towels for homeless shelters and local resource centers.
Members of the company have also served the community by cleaning local parks, participating in charity walks and city-wide prayer services, packing and distributing lunch and supply bags to hundreds of low-income students and families across Colorado Springs, and raising nearly $1,000 for charitable causes.
When the spread of COVID-19 forced the world to stay in, reaching out posed a challenge. Nevertheless, FYDC stayed true to its heart, creating new ways to shine Christ's light through contact-free outreach and service opportunities. Students wrote hundreds of letters to isolated seniors through Meals on Wheels and quarantined patients at the Healthcare Resort of Colorado Springs. Dance performances were filmed and delivered across the city, creating a digital alternative to in-person performance.
In the 2021 season, FYDC hosted its first Mini Camp with the intention of showing a new generation how the gospel and the arts intertwine. Students age 3-9 memorized scripture, and learned worship dance from members of the cast.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. — Matthew 5:16
