Hey everyone!
Today was our second full day in El Salvador, and it was such a beautiful one! We went to INFRAMEN public school where we got to perform for students twice. After our first performance, I was pretty nervous to talk to the high schoolers because I wasn’t sure how willing they would be to open up and engage in conversation. But I was so pleasantly surprised! All the kids were so curious and genuine when they were talking to us, and it was so sweet how we were all trying our best to break the language barrier.
At one point I was walking around the school with Allie and Emily when we stopped to talk to a boy named Kevin and his friends who had been at our first performance. With the help of our translator, Dennis, Kevin asked what we were doing and how long we would be at the school. I told him that we would be performing a couple more times and he said he would try to stop by again after studying.
During the second performance I saw Kevin and his friends walk in and sit down in the front of the audience! Throughout the whole performance Kevin and his friends looked so invested, and afterward he told us how much he loved it and how he really took away how the light of Jesus breaks through the darkness and changes lives.
He also told us the story of how he joined the choir at his church which then led to his
mom starting to come to church, too. Overall it was so encouraging to see a public high school student practice exactly what the story of “The Lamplighter” teaches… that sharing our stories is imperative in spreading the light of Jesus in the world.
Finally we finished the day with some colorful souvenir shopping, connecting over coffee, and salsa dancing with ice cream! It really was a beautiful day.

Hola!
Today was day two in El Salvador! We woke up and had delicious pancakes for breakfast before getting on the bus to head to a public school in San Salvador called INFRAMEN. This school is very big! It has over 2,000 students that were all in high school, so it was very exciting to share the gospel with students our own age.
Throughout the day students had the option to come in and watch our dancing with the time they had left after finishing an exam. It was very cool to see how many of them chose to come in and watch our production! God always calls the hearts that need His message most in His timing. We performed two different shows, and got to talk and pray with some of the students afterward. (And we gave out several of our bracelets!)
After the second performance I met a student named Kevin who told us the story about how he came to Jesus. It was very touching and sweet, and we loved hearing how God has already been working down here, setting the stage and priming hearts long before we even arrived.
After we performed, we went to a market and bought souvenirs, which was
very fun and very colorful! We ended the day with a little coffee run where Ms. Mimi gave a bracelet to the sweetest little boy. He looked muy guapo!
Come back tomorrow for more missions fun!

It was a beautiful day of sweet connections (and sweet treats)! We gave more copies of “El Farolero” (with personal letters in the back) to the school and had so many God-woven touch points. We met a sweet girl named Josie, who shared her story, her poetry, and the chapters she’s putting to page herself. We encountered a student who simply asked for prayer, a hug, and a shoulder to cry on. We heard from students like Kevin (shout out Kevin) who told us which parts of the stories we danced they could see themselves in—how they once struggled in with darkness through fear, doubt, and anxiety—and the parts where they saw and felt God calling them to walk forward toward Him. We’re so excited for all that God has in store for the rest of the trip!
