El Salvador 2026: Day 4

Oh hey guys!
I’m so grateful to report another great day filled with sharing the gospel and making new friends! This morning was our latest start yet, but instead of sleeping in, we took advantage of the extra time by taking a trip to a local coffee shop. It was cool to see how the city (and the traffic) came alive, and the coffee is just better here! What a treat!
We started by heading to a mountain town called Comasagua where we performed at two schools today. The first school, Centro Escolar Jose Rodriguez Valles, was full of chaos, fun, and a lot of dancing. After that, we stopped by the local church to eat lunch and hear Pastor Luis’s story. This was one of my favorite parts of the day. Getting to hear such a raw and vulnerable story of redemption and God’s providence was truly an honor, and very inspiring. It was very evident how genuine their hearts are for their ministry and incredible how well Mr. Wally and Amazing Love Missions is connected with them. There weren’t many dry eyes after his story, and it helped us realize how much of a need for the Lord really exists in Comasagua—it’s one of the poorest cities in El Salvador.
I would describe our lunch break as an oasis in our day. Another highlight of mine was getting to speak with Pastor Luis and his wife Sylvia’s daughter. My Spanish is not very good, but it is so fun to improve through practice and keep learning new things! We had many good laughs over my poor Spanish, and found many things we connected through.
Our final destination was Centro Escolar Canton Los Amates, and bittersweet performing our mini production for the last time. The school was built by prisoners working time off their sentence. It opened just last month and has about 135 students. We had a smaller crowd, which was special as we got more one-on-one time with the students.
Our time was filled with a giant dance circle (shout out to the worm and the Macarena), soccer, and reading “The Lamplighter” aloud. It was so meaningful to get to know these kids on a deeper level and pray over them. Of course, we handed out many bracelets and were sad to say goodbye.
The connections and spirit-filled conversations didn’t stop when we left. Every part of our days here—the bus rides, dinners, and moments in between—have been moments where the Lord is working, big and small. It has been such a blessing to pour into others, and to have grown so much ourselves. I can’t wait to see what else the Lord has in store for our remaining time!
Shout out to Meagan and Mr. Cody celebrating their birthdays today! Thanks for tuning in ;)

Hola todos!
My heart is feeling very full at the end of our fourth full day in El Salvador. Today’s highlights included Spanish practice on the bus, a beautiful testimony from Pastoro Luis, and a top-tier prank (shout out Sam Salvador and my fellow fourth floor baddies).
We got to perform and dance party at two schools in Comasagua. It was bittersweet to perform Ms. Abbie’s lovely choreography for the last time, but so fun to teach some of it to one of our translators. Instead of performing inside on a stage like our first few days, we got to do our production outside today. Thankfully, Comasagua is in the mountains, so it was cool and breezy. With cicadas underscoring our music, birds singing in the trees around us, and wind playing with our scarves as we performed, it felt like creation was dancing with us. At the first school especially, I really could feel the Lord’s presence with us in the natural world. While a dog walking through our performance space is by no means ideal, it felt like the sights and sounds of this beautiful country joined with us in creating our art.
After performing, we started a dance party, complete with salsa dancing and a conga line. I even taught a few girls how to do a développé. :) We saw once again, that despite language barriers, we can communicate so much through our joy. It was a delight to spend the day with so many wonderful kids.
Last shout out goes to our brilliant interpreters! We had Ms. Vicky and Beyti with us today, and I just loved getting to know them and hear about their lives. So much of what we’ve done this week would have been impossible without these incredible people to help us.
Signing off,
Lacy <3
