Six Days to El Salvador!

Updated: May 1

It's official...

We're less than a week away from our departure to San Salvador! We had an amazing final rehearsal earlier this month, including an in-studio production runthrough for our friends and families, prayer time, and a send-off dinner from Monse's Taste of El Salvador. It was amazing to see so many hands lifted in worship, to be prayed over by our COS support system, and to break bread as a team (in the form of delicious pupusas).

Next week our students will begin sharing daily updates through our time on the ground in El Salvador. We can't wait to share all the Lord is doing! In the meantime, here's a quick update on our final preparations...

Praise Reports:

  • As of this past weekend, our trip is fully funded! Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our group fundraisers, to our students who diligently worked to reach their financial goals, and to everyone who supported each student and helped them meet their fundraising targets. We're incredibly blessed by the network of support for our ministry!

  • Through divinely-woven connections and hearts on fire for mission work, this week we were able to collect Spanish language Bibles to hand out at Plaza Cívica, and around $500 worth of wish list items that we're able to bring on our trip and donate to local schools in need of supplies. While we're unable to teach worship and dance at schools on this trip (they're all closed to observe Santa Semana/Holy Week), we're thrilled to be able to bless the children of the community in this way, and extremely grateful to the individual who donated these items!

Prayer Requests:

  • This week we ask that you join us in prayer for the people of El Salvador! While we'll be based in the capital city, we're teaching and performing at several events attended by people from across the whole country, including a youth conference, Good Friday procession, and in the streets of the city square with cooperation and promotion from the mayor. We pray that hearts are open and receptive, and that the Lord prepares a way for us this week to move in big and mighty ways during our trip. We pray that He is seen and heard through each one of us, and that we plant seeds of faith in every heart we encounter next week.

  • With temperatures in the triple digits in San Salvador this week, we pray for protection from injuries, illnesses and exhaustion for our team and leaders, and that the joy of the Lord would be our strength!

  • Last but not least, we pray for smooth, safe, and stress-free travel this weekend. We're flying with a group of 19 people in total, and pray for calm hearts, open hands, and everyone's passport and bags at our final destination. 😊
